About Our

Chief Instructor

Tom Walsh Sensei studied aikido for over 30 years. He began his study of Aikido in 1991. Walsh Sensei trained many years under the late Robert Kubo Shihan and received his Rokudan (6th degree) in 2021 via Kagami Biraki recommended by Chief Instructor of Aikido of Hawaii International - Thomas Kaulukukui, Shichidan (7th degree).

Aikido of Volusia County, Inc. was established by Tom Walsh Sensei in September of 1998 with the encouragement of Robert Kubo Shihan. The school has a strong commitment to the local community. The students and instructors support local charities, schools and volunteer in self defense classes.
